Great post. This goes for artists that you might just support by following or watching too. Because people seem to think just because they support an artist, they should be able to ask for free art.

Unless they advertise they do requests, always ask if an artist does commissions BEFORE you ask if they do requests. Likewise, don’t ask if an artist does gift art. It’s really rude.

Even if you have an artist friend who GIFTS you their art unsolicited you should be mindful of the enormous expenditure of time, effort and self they’ve put forth to get where they are. This goes for musicians and authors to.
I see posts from very talented artists who are humbly offering commissions because they’re strapped and need the money to get by. If I had the means I’d support them all. Talents and imagination need to be fostered, the world becomes a very dull place without them.
